Itinerary & Notes:
Outward route followed the Riverside Path, returned along the Solent Way. Long stretches of board-walk keep the riverside paths
reasonably dry, but the clay soil holds water and puddles develop quickly.
There is a variety of habitats - field paths, hedgerows, woods, river, and reed beds. Each attracts its special species.
At Bucklers Hard we took a 30 minute river cruise.
Fledglings:
Tits and Greenfinches were observed feeding their young. Mute Swans with seven cygnets swam on the river.
